Looks delicious! Our church staff just had lunch at a Japanese restaurant with your parents. Granbury was their stop on the way from Austin to Plano. It was great to see them. Chris
I just missed your parents in Abilene. Tell them we said hi when you get the chance! We'd love to skype but can't get it to work on our computer right now; maybe some time in the next few months.
Any chance you've been able to track down Edson and Vanessa at the Lar? I know Vanderlei was adopted, but we were tlaking the other day about Edson and Vanessa and I'd really like to know where they ended up. Any help you can give us would be wonderful. We love you guys!
Lots of excitement here lately! Jessi had to be hospitalized in Chicago after returning from Thanksgiving break. She needed iv fluids and they feared she might have pneumonia or a kidney infection. After several days of bad food and diagnostic tests it was decided she had the flu and could be released to her dorm.
Finally, in a weakened stat, with a lingering fever, she asked to come home. We flew her back and fed her soup and fluids. She is doing much better. But I have warned her I will never again listen to her when she says "Don't come."
She had to take an incomplete in her classes and will make up finals when she goes back to school in January.
All that to say, it has been nice having her home.
Last night with finals completed Jimmy was baking cookies at Wheaton with "Ren". She also worked at Honeyrock this summer. Seems they're getting along and he is in no hurry to return to Columbus. Hmm.... =) Look forward to getting him home Friday.
We have lots of parties this weekend though none in our home. Friday night is at Steve (Jim's boss) and Sandi Wathen's and it will be lots of fun. Taylors will be there. Saturday is the Haring party. Sunday I'm in charge of wedding reception decor for Sarah Rode's wedding (a long time Veritas friend)! Pretty fun! Hope it all turns out...
Hopefully, when all the kids friends are home we'll have some reunion parties here. I can't wait! The tree is up, and a few decorations. We recently added additional lighting to the family room (ceiling) which makes the room more functional. So we are ready for parties! Wish you were here. =)
Your Thanksgiving feast looks awesome. You're such a fabulous hostess. Miss partying with you!
Much love to you, Ali and Mark. God bless you both and Phyllis and Antenor this special time of year. Please tell Bruna we are thinking of her too and remembering her visit with us!
“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come and has redeemed his people. He has raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David (as he said through his holy prophets of long ago),”- Luke 1:68-70
Ps. I forgot to say you're a fabulous host and hostess! Love how you two live your lives with the open door policy. One day I am going to drop in and linger awhile in your home. I look forward to it!
